Chef Spike Gjerde has big plans in Southwest D.C. this year. The Baltimore chef is opening a new restaurant, Mary, and a food hall called Peaceable Kingdom. We are expediting permits for both of these projects.
Peaceable Kingdom, named after an Edward Hicks painting, will also include an indoor farmers market, a plant-based restaurant, bars, and a coffee shop. The 20,000 square foot food hall will be located below apartments at Buzzard Point. His second project in the area, Mary, will be a 7,000 square foot restaurant facing the Anacostia River.
